What a beautiful campground!! And it’s free! Bendeela Campground is set on a river in the Kangaroo Valley, just inland from Nowra. there is so much green open grassland, with a gorgeous mountain background.
We met up and camped with some friends from home, currently living in Canberra. So nice to hang out together!
We spent most mornings exploring the beaches on the nearby NSW Coastline – our first glimpse of the East Coast since leaving Cairns 6 months ago.
Afternoons were spent lazing around camp. The kids rode their bikes, joined in some awesome slip and slides and played guitar.
At night all the wombats come out and roam around, which is pretty cool. These are the first wombats we’ve seen in the wild.
The weather has been incredibly hot – topping at 42 degrees!! Luckily we had a nice breeze most of the time, so it didn’t feel that hot.
