This post is a bit late due to not having had internet for a while.
Atherton Tablelands is a beautiful area in the mountains, to the west of Cairns. It’s green and lush – a mix of farmland and rainforest. We had a couple of days exploring this area when we left the coast.
We visited a working dairy, where we got to see the cows being milked and the boys got to pat the calves. And of course, there was yummy cheese and yogurt for mum and dad, and ice-cream for the kids.
There are dozens of waterfalls up here! We went to see a few of the bigger ones, as well as one of the crater lakes in the area. We also went to some hot springs where the boys had a swim.
It has been freezing up here – literally in the clouds!! We’ve also had rain at night, so have been thankful for the warm retreat of our caravan.
